Past Life Regression in Newcastle

Past life regression uses deep relaxation and guided imagery to explore experiences that seem to come from another time. People come out of curiosity, for personal reflection or to look at a pattern in their life from a new angle.

What is past life regression?

Past life regression is a form of hypnotherapy. You are guided into a deeply relaxed, focused state, then gently invited to explore scenes, feelings and images that seem to belong to a different time or place. Many people describe it as being a little like watching a vivid daydream unfold.

Regression can also focus on your current life. "This life" regression revisits earlier experiences, often from childhood, to look at them from a calmer, adult point of view. Both are offered at Hypnotherapy Newcastle, and they are a particular speciality of Sonya Hudson.

What do the experiences mean?

People understand their experiences in very different ways. Some see them as memories of previous lives. Others see them as products of the imagination, as symbols that reflect something going on in their life now, or as stories absorbed from family, films or books. You do not need to hold any belief about reincarnation to take part, and you will not be told what to believe. The aim is simply to explore what comes up and see whether it offers you anything useful.

What happens in a past life regression session?

As with every service here, you start with a free telephone call. This is a chance to say why you are interested, ask questions and check that regression is right for you.

The session itself usually lasts around an hour and a half. It begins with a conversation about what you hope to explore. Sonya then guides you into deep relaxation using breathing and visualisation. When you are settled, she gently asks questions about what you notice, and you are encouraged to move towards a significant moment or scene. You can describe as much or as little as you like.

At the end, you are guided back to full alertness feeling calm and refreshed. There is always time afterwards to talk through what you experienced and what, if anything, it meant to you.

Why do people try past life regression?

Most people come out of curiosity. Some have had recurring dreams, a strong sense of familiarity with a place they have never visited, or an unexplained fascination with a particular period of history. Others are interested in personal or spiritual exploration and want a fresh perspective on their life. Many simply find the experience interesting and relaxing in its own right.

Important limits to understand

There is no scientific evidence that past lives exist, and regression should not be seen as proof of them. Experiences under hypnosis can feel very real, but memories recalled in this state are not reliable and can be shaped by imagination and suggestion. For this reason, regression should never be used to "recover" memories of past events, including any suspected abuse, or to make decisions about other people.

Past life regression is not a treatment for anxiety, depression, pain or any other health condition. If you would like help with a specific problem, hypnotherapy, NLP or counselling are likely to be better starting points.

Is regression right for you? It is not suitable for everyone, including people with psychosis or some dissociative conditions, or anyone going through severe distress or trauma. If you are unsure, speak to your GP first and mention it on your free call.

Why choose Sonya for regression?

Sonya Hudson has more than 20 years of experience as a hypnotherapist and holds a Diploma in Clinical and Analytical Hypnotherapy. Regression has long been one of her specialities. She works at a gentle pace, keeps you in control throughout and makes sure there is plenty of time to talk afterwards.

Where do sessions take place?

Regression sessions take place at the clinic at Hadrian Lodge West in Wallsend, a short journey from Newcastle city centre and easy to reach from across North Tyneside. If you would like to ask about having a session online, mention it on your free call.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to believe in reincarnation?

No. People come with all sorts of views, including none. You will not be asked to believe anything.

Will I remember what happened?

Most people remember their session clearly, a little like remembering a vivid dream. You will also have time to talk it through straight afterwards.

Can I get stuck in a past life?

No. You stay aware throughout and can open your eyes at any point. At the end, you are guided back to full alertness in the room.

How long is a past life regression session?

Sessions usually last around an hour and a half, including time to talk before and after.

Can past life regression help with anxiety or other problems?

Is it suitable for everyone?

No. It is not suitable for people with psychosis, some dissociative conditions or severe trauma. If you have any concerns, speak to your GP and mention them on your free call.
