Information we collect
When you contact us
If you call, email or use our enquiry form, we collect the details you choose to share — usually your name, contact details and a short description of what you would like help with.
If you become a client
If you go on to have sessions, we keep brief session notes and relevant background information you share. Some of this may be health information, which is a special category of personal data under UK GDPR.
When you visit this website
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and does not load fonts, maps or other content from third parties when you browse. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.
How we use your information
- to respond to your enquiry and arrange appointments (legitimate interests, or steps prior to entering a contract)
- to provide and record our services (contract; and, for health information, your explicit consent and the provision of health care under UK GDPR Article 9)
- to meet legal, insurance and professional obligations (legal obligation and legitimate interests)
We never sell your information or use it for marketing without your permission.
The enquiry form
Depending on how the website is configured, the enquiry form either opens your own email application with your message ready to send, or passes your message securely to Formspree, a form-handling service that forwards it to us by email. In either case, your message is used only to reply to you.
Confidentiality
Everything you share in sessions is treated as confidential. In rare circumstances — for example, where there is a serious risk of harm to you or others, or where the law requires it — we may need to share information with appropriate authorities. Wherever possible, we would discuss this with you first.
How long we keep information
Enquiries that do not lead to sessions are deleted once they are no longer needed, normally within 12 months. Client records are kept securely for as long as is required by professional and insurance guidance, after which they are securely destroyed.
Keeping your information safe
Paper records are kept securely and electronic records are protected with appropriate technical measures, including password protection. Only the practitioner has access to client records.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask for it to be corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To make a request, please contact us using the details above.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
